Bihar student Credit Card Scheme (BSCC)

Under this scheme, students who are residents of Bihar and have passed the 12th grade from Bihar state and are desirous of availing education loan for higher education, will be provided education loan through Bihar State Education Finance Corporation. Under this scheme, education loan up to a maximum of Rs. 4 lakh will be provided at the rate of simple interest of 01 percent to women, disabled and transgender applicants and 04 percent to male applicants.
Eligibility and Conditions to Avail the Benefits of the Scheme
For this scheme, the age of the applicant should not be more than 25 years and for the prescribed postgraduate course, not more than 30 years.
Under this scheme, students who have passed 12th or equivalent (10th for Polytechnic courses) from institutions recognized by the Bihar state will be benefited.
The student should be enrolled or selected for enrollment in higher education in an educational institution recognized by the relevant regulatory agency of Bihar and other state or central government.
This loan will be given for general courses of higher education and various vocational technical courses like B.A./B.Sc./Engineering/M.B.B.S./Management/Law etc.
If the applicant has a degree at one level, loan will not be provided under this scheme for a degree of the same level. This provision will not apply to technical and management courses.
Required Documents (Original and Photocopy)
Interested applicants for Bihar Student Credit Card scheme have to submit self-attested copies of the following documents along with their self-signed application form at the District Registration and Counseling Center:
(1) Aadhaar card of the applicant and co-applicant.
(2) Mark sheet and certificate of Matric, +2 (10th for Polytechnic course) and last successful examination.
(3) Certificate etc. regarding scholarship received, free education (if applicable).
(4) Photocopy of the applicant's bank passbook, indicating the name of the branch, account no. and IFSC code.
(5) Proof of admission in the institution indicating the course duration (or course prospectus for institutions outside Bihar state).
(6) Details of course fees received from the institution.
(7) Two passport size photographs of the applicant and co-applicant i.e. mother/father/husband/guardian (blood relative).
(8) Residence certificate and photocopy of the first page of the bank passbook in which the residence address is clearly marked or electricity bill or telephone bill or passport or driving license or voter ID card or any one of the certificates used for voting.
Post Matric Scholarship
The Post Matric Scholarship Schemes of Govt. of Bihar (Within the State/Outside the State) are applied only through online portal. In order to apply online, please visit the website through URL: http://pmsonline.bih.nic.in/ and Mobile App Post matric Bihar
Eligibility of Applicants for Post Matric Scholarship
(i) The applicant must be a permanent resident of Bihar.
(ii) The applicant's caste must be included in the list of Backward Classes, Extremely Backward Classes, Scheduled Castes, and Scheduled Tribes issued by the State Government.
(iii) As per the eligibility criteria determined by the concerned department for the Post Matric Scholarship, the maximum total annual income of the applicant's parents/guardian to Rs. 3.00 lakh. In the future, the order issued by the concerned department regarding the maximum income limit for parents/guardians will be considered applicable.
(iv) Under the Post Matric Scholarship Scheme, only those students who are studying in higher classes after passing the Matric/Entrance examination can apply for the scholarship.
(v) Students will not be eligible for the scholarship if they are studying the same level course after passing one level of the course, such as - after passing the I.S.C. examination, if they are studying I.A., after passing the B.A. examination, if they are studying B.Com, and after doing M.S.C., they will not be given scholarship for studying in M.A.
(vi) Post Matric Scholarship will be provided to only 02 (two) sons of the parents in Backward Class and Extremely Backward Class categories. This rule will not apply to daughters, but this rule will not apply to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
